The Underwood See is the third and final volume of The Aldous Lexicon. I enjoyed this series immensely, and from the second I started reading, I was captivated by the conclusion to what has become one of my favourite series of all time. This books has just as many twists and turns as the previous two volumes, and leaves the reader guessing until the very last page. The only downside is that it just wasn't long enough. I want more!
This book is the exciting conclusion to the Aldous Lexicon trilogy. It is the darkest of the three books and it dives into far more alternate realities than the other two. It ties up plot lines admirably but gives you a lot to think about...in a good way.
(If you walk away from a book about alternate realities and have nothing to think about, the author hasn't done a very good job.
The numerous realities explored in this book have so many interesting visual images that I would love to see these books made into a movie. Anyone in Hollywood seeing this???
I can't say much more without giving anything away other than I was sorry to say goodbye to Alaric and Naia but I'm well satisfied with how the author wrapped things up. A great end to an amazing trilogy.
This is the third terrific book in the Aldous Lexicon Trilogy (also known as the Withern Rise Trilogy). I recommend reading the first two books before this one!
This book continues to follow the realities of Alaric and Naia, but this book centers around the mysterious Aldous U, who has much to explain, and it can actually tie your brain in delicious knots trying to fathom the different realities and how it all works!
I enjoyed many of the characters, but my heart went out to Alaric, whose struggle with himself and his life events always seemed so difficult and challenging.
This book is perhaps a bit deeper than the first two; there are some dark and sad parts of this book, plus a few interesting twists that I wasn't expecting, but the book ended well. It is a great conclusion to a very satisfying Trilogy.
